Aneke heads to Belgium

Arsenal youngster Chuks Aneke has signed a permanent deal with Belgian side Zulte Waregem.

The midfielder has spent the last two seasons on loan at Crewe, scoring 16 goals, but was released by the Gunners at the end of last season.

Crewe had hoped to sign Aneke permanently but he has opted to move to Zulte, who will hope he can replace Thorgan Hazard.

“This is a great opportunity for me and I will do my best to take it as soon as possible,” Aneke told Zulte’s official website.

“I think Belgian football will suit my playing style.

“Zulte Waregem give opportunities to young players and this club, after some good conversations, was a logical choice for my future development.”

We wish Chuks well.
