Jack Wilshere believes that the result of the FA Cup Final tomorrow will determine whether it has been a successful season for Arsenal or not.

Wilshere said: “I think that will define if we have a good season or not.

“We wanted to get to second this year but unfortunately we couldn’t manage that so now we’re looking to finish the season off with the cup.”

Wilshere started and scored in the 4-1 Premier League win over West Brom last Sunday, and his strike was voted Match of the Day’s goal of the season.

The second successive season that Wilshere has won that accolade.

Wilshere hopes he has done enough in recent matches to earn a staring place: “I really want to play. It’s probably the biggest game of the season, said Wilshere.

“I’ve been injured for a lot of the season so it’s been frustrating and I’ve worked really hard to come back.”

Wilshere added: “I feel really good. Of course it’s down to the manager but hopefully I will play.

“When you come back and you get to major finals and you can win major trophies, that definitely is something that keeps you going.”
