Gunners to bid for Mathieu Debuchy to replace Bacary Sagna
Arsenal are preparing to bid for France and Newcastle defender Mathieu Debuchy, according to reports in France.
France Football say Gunners boss Arsene Wenger sees Debuchy as an ideal replacement for Bacary Sagna, who has agreed to join Manchester City.
28-year-old Debuchy has 23 caps for France and was picked ahead of Sagna for their opening World Cup group games against Honduras and Switzerland.
Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain also said to be interested in Debuchy.
Debuchy has made 46 appearances for Newcastle since joining the club in January 2013 from Lille, and is reported to be keen to join a team in the Champions League.
Arsenal have been linked with a number of players to replace Sagna. Seamus Coleman and Juanfran yesterday penned new deals with Everton and Athletico Madrid respectively.
Ivory Coast’s Serge Aurier is another being linked with the Gunners.
Would Debuchy be a good signing for the Arsenal.
