Gunners make bid for Mario?

Arsenal’s search for a striker has been stepped up with news that Mario Balotelli and Gonzalo Higuain are both unsettled at their clubs.

The Gunners missed out on signing Gonzalo Higuain lat summer. After protracted negotiations the Argentinian chose to join Napoli from Real Madrid.

But news coming out of Italy suggests Higuain is unsettled and looking for a transfer. Higuain would command a fee of around £30m.

Whilst Balotelli has been told he can leave AC Milan this summer with new boss Filippo Inzaghi reportedly not keen to keep the 23-year-old at the San Siro.

And that has seen both Monaco and Arsenal show interest in signing the former Manchester City player.

It had been suggested that Monaco were preparing to offer Colombian striker Radamel Falcao in exchange for the Italian international – who scored the winner against England on Saturday night.

But reports in Italy suggest that Arsene Wenger has attempted to scupper any move to France with a £25m offer.

Would Balotelli or Higuain be a solution to Arsenal’s striker shortage.
