Gunners eye poleArsenal are reported to be monitoring Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, as they weigh up options for strengthening the squad in the January transfer window.

The Poland International, 24, has been impressive since joining Sevilla from Reims for £4m in the Summer.

Krychowiak has a buy-out clause of  £24m, but it is highly unlikely that Arsenal would be prepared to pay that amount to sign the pole.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of defensive midfield players in recent transfer windows.

But, Arsene Wenger has so far not followed through by making a signing in an area where the team clearly needs strengthening.

The priority for Gunners at the moment for January though would appear to be signing a central defender.

Arsenal’s defensive options have been depleted in recent weeks through injury and suspension.
