Clarets ready to give it a go against Gunners on Saturday
Burnley defender Stephen Ward is looking forward to the Clarets visit to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday to take on Arsenal.
Ward who was recalled to the Burnley team reflected on how tough Burnley are finding life in the Premier League after their 3-1 defeat by Everton on Sunday.
Two goals from Samuel Eto’o and one from Romelu Lukaku were enough to secure the win, and three points, for Everton. Danny Ings got the Burnley goal.
The Clarets are yet to record a win following their promotion from the Championship.
On the Burnley defence struggling to handle the twin Everton strikers; Eto’o and Lukaku, Ward said:
“Those are the lessons you learn in the Premier League.”
“You’re coming up against some of the best players in the league”.
“I felt as though I acquitted myself well and I enjoyed it,” he said.
“We’ve got a good set of lads, a good group, so we’ll move on to Arsenal next week.”
“The games against the top five or six are very tough and going to Arsenal next week nobody will give us a chance.”
“We’ll keep plugging away and hopefully we’ll get the results as soon as possible. There’s always pressure to perform.”
“We want to go out, give it a go, and hopefully cause an upset. You just never know in this league.”
