Arsene Wenger on team news for Arsenal’s clash with Middlesbrough
Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Middlesbrough at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow (3.00pm kick off UK time).
The Gunners go into the weekend fixtures in second place in the Premier League table, behind leaders Manchester City on goal difference.
Their opponents are in 17th place in the Premier League table.
Grani Xhaka serves the first match of the suspension picked up for his sending off against Swansea City last Saturday.
“From Wednesday night we have no big problems, the only uncertainty is Santi Cazorla so we will see,” said Wenger. “Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud are progressing well. Giroud could be available on Tuesday (against Reading).
“Aaron Ramsey is progressing well, fitness wise he is 90% there. His potential return is not against Reading, maybe Sunderland (on 29 October). We want him to be 100% fit before we bring him back.
“Danny Welbeck is ahead of schedule and could be back in January. It can take two months of work to get back to full competition. He will be starting running in two weeks.”
