Arsene set to make changes for FA Cup tie with Burnley

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will make changes to his line up when Arsenal take on Burnley in the FA Cup tomorrow.

“The team news is quite good because we have many players in full training. The only ones who are off training are Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla.”

Wenger added: “We have to earn the right to qualify. I will make some changes for the game.”.

Wenger confirmed that David Ospina will start in-goal in place of Petr Cech in the fourth round tie at the Emirates Stadium.

New signing Mohamed Elneny could make his Gunners debut, while Francis Coquelin is in contention for a first start after recovering from injury. Tomas Rosicky is also available for selection.

Kieran Gibbs is also likely to get a start in place of Nacho Monreal.

Wenger said of Gibbs.

“Gibbs is a quality player. He will get games but there is competition.”

Wenger confirmed that tomorrow’s match comes too soon for Danny Welbeck.

The Gunners will also be without Per Mertesacker following his red card against Chelsea last Sunday.

The Arsenal boss is expecting a tough examination from Burnley, who are riding high in the Championship and pressing for a return to the Premier League.

”They compete at the right level, Wenger said.

All their players used to play in the Premier league. They will be competitive.

“We went to Sheffield Wednesday (in the Capital One Cup) and got quite a bad defeat so we must learn from that”.
