Arsene Wenger expecting another tough challenge when Arsenal visit the Toon
Arsene Wenger is expecting a tough challenge when Arsenal visit St James’s Park, to take on Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.
The Gunners took all three points in the corresponding fixture last season with a 2-1 victory.
Olivier Giroud scored twice, and some fine keeping from David Ospina towards the end of the match ensured Arsenal took maximum points.
Whilst the Gunners are yet to win at home so far this season in the Premier League, they did win their only away game so far.
A hard-fought 2-1 victory at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.
Wenger is expecting a similar test against Newcastle United.
“We want to do well at Newcastle but it’s always very, very, very tight and very committed there because the crowd is always behind their team,” he said.
“They have just come out from a good result at Manchester United so it’s important that we prepare well and we give absolutely everything to win this game before the break.
“We have always done very well away from home. Last season and the season before, it was the last game of the season that we had to win. There has always been something big at stake, but we like pressure.”
