Arsene reveals team news for EFL Cup tie with Reading

Arsenal are set to make full use of their squad when they take on  Reading in the EFL Cup 4th round at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow night (Tuesday 25th October, 7.45 pm kick-off UK time).

Arsene Wenger has revealed that he is likely to field a similar line-up to the one that beat Nottingham Forest 4-0 at the City Ground in the last round.

The squad on duty against Forest will be bolstered by the return of Carl Jenkinson and Olivier Giroud following injury.

Granit Xhaka will serve the second match of his suspension for being sent off against Swansea City in the Premier League. Although now back in full training Aaron Ramsey will not be involved.

Reading, who will be backed by around 5000 fans tomorrow night, are currently in 8th place in the Championship table. Jaap Stam’s Royals are one point off the play-off places following their 1-0 victory at bottom of the table Rotherham on Saturday.

“It will be a similar squad to against Nottingham Forest, said Wenger. We will have Gabriel, Holding, Jenkinson will be back and will play. Jeff Reine-Adelaide will play, otherwise I think Iwobi, Lucas, Oxlade-Chamberlain will also play. Gibbs – who captained the team at Forest – will do it again on Tuesday. I think Olivier (Giroud) will be included, but for Aaron (Ramsey) it is too early although he is back in full training now.”
