Arsenal Ladies’ poor start to the Women”s Super League continued last night with a 2-0 defeat at home to Birmingham City.

Kirsty Linnett’s second-half brace condemned Shelley Kerr’s team to a second straight defeat in four days having lost to Manchester City on Sunday.

Arsenal had lots of possession but rarely tested Birmingham goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer and were well beaten in the end.

The Gunners are yet to win in the Women’s Super League this campaign, with their only point coming in the 1-1 draw with Notts County.
